Hi Ivan, yes, this is Momo's country, they are made wild, strong, and your part of France, his part of France is La France Profonde. I wrote another article about Momo, Mamie, and Crow Soup, which is nearer to your place then Momo's... here: https://soapsandsagas.substack.com/p/in-the-depths-of-france
In homage to the men (and women) who built our world, also have regard to the stonemasons of my region, the Creuse. I think this is where Momo also originated from. This very remote and rural part of France is infertile so the population, such as it was, had to rely on other skills to make a living. They became great stonemasons and built the most amazing churches, ending up reconstructing Paris. It's a tradition that continues to today. https://francetoday.com/culture/architecture/the-stonemasons-of-creuse/
Dear Amie, thank you so much for your comment. Yes, he is really quite a lovely character, and me too, I now am in awe of our railroads, tunnels, and learning more. Merci ma copine!
I love your tales of life and people. Do I know Maurice well enough to call him Momo? Great job on the facade. I met him working on it about 2 weeks ago. Lovely to see him.
Hi Yvonne, Yes, of course you can call him Momo. It is a funny thing, I never know what I will write about, but I know it will come, last minute, there it is...one thing triggers another, and yes, Momo really reminds me of the Navvy - the modern day one,
If you come to the Creuse you can visit this amazing village of the sculptors: https://www.tourisme-creuse.com/toute-la-creuse/decouvrir/sites-a-visiter/villes-et-villages-de-caractere/village-de-masgot/
