I will leave Tuchan on the 8th December to go back to the UK, second step on my way back to China. I have collected hours of film, wonderful encounters with my village which has brought me closer to her, more in love with her.

Last week I filmed Alex. I call her “the girl with flowers in her eyes.”

Je quitterai Tuchan le 8 décembre pour retourner au Royaume-Uni, deuxième étape de mon retour en Chine. J'ai accumulé des heures de film, de merveilleuses rencontres avec mon village qui m'ont rapproché d'elle, et je suis tombé plus amoureux d'elle que jamais. La semaine dernière, j'ai filmé Alex. Je l'appelle ‘la fille avec des fleurs dans les yeux.’

Alexandra Benti grows flowers and herbs for healing. She prepares her soil in November, planting seeds, and small plants, covering them for the winter. Her land is in Paziols, just outside Tuchan on the slopes of the Tauch. She is not a local, originally from Luxembourg. Her father is Italian, her mother French. And somehow along the way she picked up 8 languages!

Alexandra cultive des fleurs et des herbes médicinales. Elle prépare son sol en novembre en plantant des graines et de petites plantes, qu'elle recouvre pour l'hiver. Sa terre se trouve à Paziol, juste à l'extérieur de Tuchan, sur les pentes du Tauch. Elle n'est pas une locale, originaire du Luxembourg, et un père italien. Et elle a appris 8 langues en cours de sa route !

She switches easily between French and English, which gives her an edge, the others: Polish, Italian, Spanish, German, Portuguese and a dialect of Luxembourgish. She spent years in London living in squats, creating music, and learning about medicinal plants. She moved around Europe, eventually discovering Tuchan a few years ago. She fell in love with the wilderness and freedom.

Elle passe facilement du français à l'anglais, ce qui lui donne un avantage sur les autres langues : le polonais, l'italien, l'espagnol, l'allemand, le portugais et un dialecte du luxembourgeois. Elle a passé des années à Londres à vivre dans des squats, à créer de la musique et à s'initier aux plantes médicinales. Elle a parcouru l'Europe et a découvert Tuchan il y a quelques années. Elle est tombée amoureuse de la nature sauvage et de la liberté.

She recently launched her business - Fleurilege - cultivation of spices, aromatic, medicinal and pharmaceutical plants. ❁ Elle a récemment lancé son entreprise - Fleurilege - Culture de plantes à épices, aromatiques, médicinales et pharmaceutiques. ❁

In spring she will begin her harvest.

Au printemps, elle commencera sa récolte.
