Half way in, half way out
Last month I told you about Marika - Marika, sweet Marika who lives in the migrant hotel in London, with Amir her son. If you did not read her story, here it is below ….
Marika got 5 years to remain the the UK on the 27th October
Tomorrow we are going to Tunbridge Wells Council, the town where I live where she has an appointment to see if she can be housed.
It feels surreal.
Grateful,
thank you to the agent that Marika called kind.
Thank you life for putting us together on that sultry day in late summer, going to the sea,
thank you for giving me that time needed to help, and that I had time to do something lovely with
I am sure, whatever happens now, all will be well
While so many suffer, so many run, leave their homes, some can find a way to a new home
DON’T WALK ON BY, DON’T TURN YOUR HEAD AWAY
Stop, wait, ask a question,
look into the eyes of the other,
the eyes will tell the story
notice their movements,
do they need help? If they do,
hold time for them.
Many thanks to the UK
Many thanks
Jeanne
